Fishing with the Bears at Brooks - FisheWear

Fishing with the Bears at Brooks

In Alaska, and especially at Brooks Camp, the bears are as plentiful as rainbow trout. Bears always have the right of way and there are many restrictions to fishing around the bears that you need to be aware of. The most important rule is: Always be aware of your surroundings and give the bears a wide berth. At Brooks Camp the bears are well fed by all the salmon they catch in the river and seemingly don’t notice the hordes of people that are observing them.

In the fall months, well into October, we have had rainbow fishing so crazy that we were catching fish on our back-casts! We have easily caught and released a couple hundred fish in one day!
