Product Operations Manager
This is a full-time opportunity to help build beautiful products from the inside, owning the processes, timelines, communication, documentation, vendor coordination, launch readiness, and product data that keep Fishe moving forward.
About Fishe
Fishe is the leading women's fly-fishing apparel and outdoor lifestyle brand. We create thoughtfully designed products that help women feel confident on the water and in the outdoors. Our mission is to build beautiful, functional gear while inspiring more women to experience the outdoors.
As we continue to expand into major retailers, specialty fly shops, and new product categories, we are seeking an operational owner for our entire product pipeline. This is an ideal position for someone who loves organization, enjoys working with creative teams, understands product development, and wants to help build an outdoor brand from the inside.
Position Summary
The Product Operations Manager serves as the operational hub for all product-related activities at Fishe. Working closely with the CEO, Director of Operations, Marketing, Sales, and our contract Product Designer/Developer, you will manage products from initial concept through customer delivery.
Note on the Role: While a contract Product Designer/Developer handles technical engineering, you will completely own the processes, timelines, communication, documentation, vendor coordination, launch readiness, and ongoing database management. Success means products launch on time, inventory is accurate, and every department has the information they need to succeed.
- 2–5 years of experience in product coordination, merchandising, purchasing, operations, or product development with an apparel brand.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills alongside exceptional organizational skills and sharp attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and working with international vendors in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a highly self-motivated, independent problem-solving mindset.
- Experience in apparel, the outdoor industry, or a passion for fishing/outdoor recreation.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify, inventory management, and working with overseas manufacturers.
- Understanding wholesale operations and garment construction.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Product Development & Launch Coordination
- Timeline Management: Coordinate development and cross-functional launch calendars, leading weekly product development meetings to ensure all approvals occur on schedule.
- Production Tracking: Track samples, revisions, wear-testing, fit sessions, artwork approvals, and pattern development milestones.
- Photo Shoot & Asset Planning: Plan and coordinate product photography schedules, ensuring marketing assets are ready and aligned with upcoming product launch dates.
- Launch Readiness: Build product listings and ensure complete launch readiness in Shopify, verifying inventory availability across all channels (online, wholesale, retail).
- Creative Collaboration: Recruit and work directly with new and existing artists on seasonal collections and special product collaboration projects.
2. Operations, Inventory & Data Management
- Data Ownership: Create and maintain SKUs, generate UPC/GTIN barcodes through GS1, and maintain accurate product records within Shopify and internal databases.
- Financial Tracking: Set/maintain channel pricing, verify profit margins, and calculate landed cost of goods by accounting for duties, freight, and tariffs.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, set reorder points, assist with forecasting, and manage the end-to-end purchase order (PO) and vendor invoice process.
3. Vendor & Cross-Functional Support
- Factory Liaison: Act as the primary contact for domestic and overseas factories; request quotes, negotiate pricing, track production, and manage tech-file/packaging asset transfers.
- Sales & Retail Support: Build pricing workbooks, support promotional planning, and ensure wholesale teams and retailers receive updated product catalogs and information ahead of launches.
- Event Logistics: Coordinate product inventory, packing lists, merchandising displays, and regulatory paperwork for trade shows and events.
Systems You Will Use Daily:
Shopify, Chat GPT, Google Workspace, Excel/Google Sheets, Asana, GS1 US, Dropbox/Google Drive, and Inventory Management Software.
What Success Looks Like (Year One)
Within your first year, you will successfully:
- Own every product timeline from concept through launch, ensuring items hit schedules and reducing cross-departmental bottlenecks.
- Keep all operational product information and supplier databases flawlessly accurate and organized.
- Improve communication with global manufacturers and build scalable systems to support Fishe's continued growth.
