Orvis performance, made in the USA. The Orvis Recon Fly Rod 908-4 is a 9' 8-weight, 4-piece rod for anglers who want a serious stick that still packs down for travel.
An 8-weight is the rod you reach for when the flies get bigger, the wind picks up and the fish pull harder. The Recon 908-4 is finished with a matte blue blank with charcoal and light blue accents, and a quick rod identifier on the blank makes it easy to grab the right rod when you're rigging more than one. Pair it with your favorite reel and line, and you're ready for the days when a lighter rod won't cut it.
The hardware is built to last. Silver snake and stripping guides run the length of the blank, and a pewter Type III anodized solid aluminum reel seat holds your reel securely. A 1.5" fighting butt gives you something to brace against your body when a big fish runs.
